Nearly 3% of global CO2 emissions result directly from air travel. At SUAT Fuels, we enthusiastically support the commitments of IATA and ICAO to achieve carbon-neutral growth in aviation starting from 2020 and to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The most critical component in aviation’s path to carbon neutrality is the increase in the production and adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Only SAF has the potential to deliver the performance of fossil aviation fuels but with a fraction of their greenhouse gas emissions.
SAF on Demand: Making Sustainability the Simple Choice
Currently, SUAT Fuels actively markets SAF at more than 4 airports on the Iberian Peninsula. Through SUAT Fuels, customers can now check SAF availability by airport and place orders on an into-wing basis or pay the SAF premium to receive the benefit of emission reductions through our Book and Claim program.
With just one click, customers can view SAF availability, order the product, and see their total greenhouse gas reduction when purchasing SAF instead of conventional fuel.

SUAT Fuels Book and Claim
SUAT Fuels’ Book and Claim program enhances access to SAF by matching product supply with demand. This process allows an aircraft to be refueled with SAF at a single location without contributing to excessive emissions due to extended logistics chains, while the purchasing customer benefits from certification and ESG claims.

Carbon Credit Offsetting
The regular operation of any aircraft will emit various particles and gases into the Earth's atmosphere. While many of these greenhouse gases occur naturally, excessive emissions in the aviation industry create conditions where excess heat becomes trapped in the atmosphere and impacts our climate.
Air travelers are increasingly aware of this effect and the impact of their personal choices on the environment. While efforts are being made to more widely adopt renewable and carbon-neutral energy sources, the industry has a long way to go before they are widely used. In the meantime, air travelers and aircraft operators can try to balance their excessive carbon emissions by sponsoring emission reductions in other industries through registered and verified emission reduction projects.

Carbon Credits
The Carbon Credit is a concept created to reduce the release of harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Companies can purchase a permit that allows them to emit a certain fixed amount of carbon dioxide (CO2).
This credit acts as a currency for the company to offset that emission by retiring the credit and funding projects that contribute to a net reduction in the total carbon emissions in the Earth's atmosphere. The process of “retiring” credits is verified by an independent third party and audited annually.
All fuel purchases made with SUAT Fuels can be linked to a corresponding carbon credit. For every unit of carbon dioxide projected to be emitted into the atmosphere per gallon of fuel purchased, SUAT Fuels can facilitate the simultaneous purchase and eventual retirement of a carbon credit to offset the emission of that gallon. SUAT Fuels effectively enables operators to manage all or part of their fuel purchase in a carbon-neutral manner.
As part of the program, SUAT Fuels issues official proof of retirement and carbon offset certificates for the operator to display in their offices and marketing programs. Proof of retirement can also be presented to third-party regulatory agencies to provide certification of any minimum offset requirements set by governments around the world.
